The Consultants
Warwickshire Surgical Partners is a collaboration between three consultant surgeons
who have worked together for many years. Their aim is to provide expert care to
patients with a wide variety of surgical problems by combining modern techniques
with years of clinical experience.

Thread Vein Treatments:
Photoderm and Laser Therapy
This is an outpatient treatment using intense pulsed light (IPL) or Laser
for tiny thread veins (spider veins). It uses an intense
pulse of light to coagulate the blood in the visible thread veins, which is
then absorbed by the body over several weeks, removing the thread vein. Photoderm
therapy or laser is a suitable treatment for very small thread veins on un-tanned skin. It
causes minimal discomfort, may be associated with some bruising and treated skin
must not be exposed to strong sunlight for 6 weeks following a treatment session.
The Consultants at Warwickshire Surgical Partners have found photoderm or laser therapy to be
highly effective for small red visible veins. If appropriate for your thread veins,
your Consultant will discuss the procedure for photoderm or laser therapy in more detail at
your consultation.
Warwickshire Surgical Partners recommend and will refer you to one of the following clinics
which perform Photoderm or Laser treatments on suitable thread veins:-
