The Consultants
Warwickshire Surgical Partners is a collaboration between three consultant surgeons
who have worked together for many years. Their aim is to provide expert care to
patients with a wide variety of surgical problems by combining modern techniques
with years of clinical experience.

Endovenous Laser Therapy.
In suitable patients, this is an effective new treatment for varicose veins generally performed
under general anaesthetic as a day case. After anaesthetising the skin, a guide wire and catheter
is inserted under ultrasound control into the long vein in the thigh, from where the varicose veins originate.
Further local anaesthetic is then injected along the length of the vein, and then a laser current is passed through the
catheter to shrivel up the varicose vein along its length.
After the procedure, your leg will be bandaged for 7 days, and then you will wear a support
stocking for a further 7 days. You will be encouraged to take short daily walks, but otherwise
continue with normal activities. At around 2 weeks you will be reviewed by your consultant vascular
surgeon to assess your progress.
